"I know kung fu" - That's what Neo (from the movie "The Matrix") said after he learned kung fu by uploading some files to his head. The IKnowKFu (not the final name) web app is not trying to upload files to your head (...yet muahah!), but the main purpose is similar. Everyone should be able to learn anything they want, regardless of social status, ethnicity or race.
I'm in the opinion that schools do an awful job at teaching or promoting knowledge. Every time a kid wants to learn something new, their parents have to pay for that 'course', be it an instrument, cooking lessons, art lessons, computer lessons etc etc etc.
Inside this 'courses' they are obligated to learn at a predetermined speed, punishing failure, promoting stress and sometimes even forcing the student to learn disciplines that are of no interest to him.
IKnowKFu wants be an open platform to learning.... ANYTHING. Anything you may want to know, from how to make a cake, how to learn C++, how to speak Japonese, how to draw a dragon, how to be the best player in Dota2 or Starcraft2, to even how to construct a tree house.
True, all these tutorials are spreed around the internet. But, how do you now which tutorial is the best when you get so many results from a google search? Some times the answer is in a blog that no one knows. The difference in IKnowKFu is that the power is given to the users. The app is a tool for the world for speeding knowledge free and open. Like Reddit or StackOverflow, IKnowKFu is going to use users to review his own content. Looking at Reddit or 4Chan you can testify the power of the people all around the world.
Free knowledge is a big step for everyone around the world, and maybe, just maybe i can do something about it.
Wouldn't it be awesome?
(Ultimate goal: learn Kung Fu with IKnowKFu)
